Thought this was very intersting: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet has obtained a $20-million line of credit from Chicago-based Harris Bank. The diocese will use the credit line to fund various projects such as renovations and school additions, says a diocesan spokesman. Among the projects is the purchase of a residence adjacent to Notre Dame Parish, 64 Norfolk Ave. in west suburban Clarendon Hills thatâ??s currently used as a rectory. The diocese will not use the credit line to pay recent settlements involving priest misconduct, the spokesman says.

As a alumnus of Catholic education, I certainly feel for the Driscoll family during this difficult time of transition. However, I wanted to point out that the website Illinois High School Glory Days (www.illinoishsglorydays.com) is going to do its part to keep Driscoll alive. The site is about Illinois high schools that are no longer open due to consolidations, annexations, and financial reasons. As one of the site's authors, we invite the Driscoll community to contact us with information about the school, give us your memories, pass along photos, and more. May Driscoll live in your hearts eternally.

Please pray for a member of our Driscoll family...David Ayello is recovering from surgery for a bain aneurysm and is currently in the ICU at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village. David is a member of the Class of 2005, and I'm sure both he and his family would appreciate our prayers. Prayer is a powerful thing, and it can do miracles.

When your a kid in High School you don't realize your environment is shaping you for the future. Driscoll had prepared me to be successful in College and thereafter in life. The friendships you establish with the teachers at Driscoll live on for a lifetime. NO where else would I ever imagined to be friends with past high school teachers almost 20 years after graduating. Driscoll isn't a a school, it's a family! I thank my parents for making sacrifices and giving me and my two brothers the opportunity to attend Driscoll. Many Many great memories will live on through all of us. Best of luck to Mr. Maggorie too! He is a fantastic person and part of the Driscoll history. Good luck & God Bless to all the faculty.

Tomorrow I will return to Driscoll for the last time to turn in the keys to my very first classroom. As i write this, I feel as If I'm dreaming and I will wake up soon because that's what happens when you have night mares. You wake up and you realize it was a nightmare, but it's not, it's real! I will miss this school so very much, i will miss my students, my classroom, my hall. I will be teaching at another high school come August but I will never, ever forget what I learned at Driscoll and how much I love this school. It was the best the best thing that ever happened to me and I am proud to say that I was part of the Driscoll family! Go Driscoll!!!!!!

My son will never know Driscoll. That is very sad. I was hoping Driscoll could help him come out of his shell. We'll just have to find another way to do that. I hear a lot of our kids are going to IC. Does anyone know how many? Are any of the staff going there? Maybe we can start building the Driscoll spirit there. I am concerned about the staff. The Christian Brothers and the Diocese promised to give them preferential treatment. We've been talking about the students, but what about them. Have the brothers or the diocese come through? I have not heard of their presence on site.

I am so grateful that one of the options for the cash distribution is to create trophy cases and a memorial for DC. I encourage everyone to vote for this excellent choice. The Brothers have violated the law by not paying unemployment, and every teacher can pursue legal action to recover every penny they deserve immediately after they are denied unemployment benefits. Thus, the teachers should receive benefits far in excess of the $1,000 or so that each teacher would receive if the cash fund was divided up. The trophies and a memorial being located at the Village Hall will ensure that Driscoll will never die. Just like we say "live Jesus in our hearts, forever," this memorial and public display of the trophies will ensure that Driscoll will live in our hearts and in the community forever.
