I think it is very fitting that two of the most respected men in DC history are FINALLY brought up during our time of mourning. We've all heard the names...Brother Tom, Brother Samuel, Carol Pfeiffer, Rod Molek, Brother Dolph, Rich Marks, Jeff Sefcik -- but none more important than Mike Burzawa and Tim Racki. "Buzz" and "Rack" weren't just men. They were warriors. They were all about business day in and day out. They brought respect to Driscoll and did it with fire and passion. I too would like to hear from "Buzz" and "Rack" and get one last harrah from these two great leaders.

I really don't know where to begin, however I truly want to thank from the bottom of my families hearts, Gene Faut, Art Stuart and the entire committee that worked so very hard for each and every one of us. There are not enough words to describe our sincere thankfullness, except to say that you all fought the fight, and no matter where we all end up, we will all have one thing in common....WE ARE & ALWAYS WILL BE DRISCOLL!! Thank you to ALL the staff and teachers, for they are all my son's (Dean '09), family, and will always hold a special place in all our hearts. I truly feel the only way to move on and try to live normally is to ALWAYS remember WE WERE, ARE, AND WILL ALWAYS BE DRISCOLL FOREVER!! May God bless everyone of you.

It was truly an honor to attend DCHS and an honor to play the first football game on Barth Field with my brother Jack. Jack and I shared some special moments on that field for 3 years (as Jack was a year older) - and we will never forget what Driscoll has meant to our families. We helped with the rebuilding of the scoreboard after that terrible tornado in '76, and my brother Jack and I also had the privilege of being in the "Wizard of Oz". Jack was the Scarecrow...and I was Uncle Henry. That was a special play and Brother Samuel was an outstanding director. Thank you Driscoll Catholic for everything. I - and my family - will never forget you!

As I begin the painful process of attempting to find a new place to call "Home" for my children ( class of 2011 & 2014 ) I thank those schools who are welcoming Driscoll students with the respect, warmth and heartfelt sympathy for this devasting situation that they find is deserving. I thank the true friends who share the feeling of loss with us. I thank those who were true to the school before and during this process. I feel that those who have never quite " got it" all these years about what Driscoll truly stands for in the lives of students , families and in the communities around us have finally witnessed what so many of us already know. We had a chance to choose it. We had a chance to live it. We are and forever will be the Driscoll Family.

Many people have asked me why I have been so involved with Driscoll since my son graduated 2 years ago. This past month has shown exactly why. Unless you are part of the Driscoll Community, you just can't understand the heart of the school. Not only the students but the entire family. I will cherish every moment I have spent trying to help at Driscoll. I just wish I could have done more sooner. I am so sad for all the future Highlanders that will never be. The school was truly a gift to my son and our family. I want to also thank every teacher at DC that made a difference in my son's life. God bless you going forward.

Like many, I owe a lot to Driscoll. I can write a book on how I cherish so many memories of great friends and teachers. The thing I think we all need to remember is that, the diocese and the brothers didn't want Driscoll to continue from the start. This all could've been discussed in the fall so we could've started working on a solution. Thanks SO MUCH to all who have tried to save our school. It is truly devistating, that Driscoll will not be around for my daughter to attend. What a shame :(

Driscoll is family as that is what best describes the emotion. Memories would fill volumes and when finished more would cascade. From the packed auditorium watching musicals to the gym and Barth Field watching and playing sports. I had the honor of playing in the first game on Barth Field. Those special relationships with 3 or 5 or 10 people who will never leave your heart. Those teachers and coaches. Thoughts and prayers to all especially class of 2009 and 2010.2011.2012.

As I sit and think about my years at Driscoll, I have so many memories. My memories go back to when I was 5 or 6 years old and was going to football games with my aunt (Monica Moran) or making floats for Homecoming with her as a little girl. I remember being at St. Philips and watching the Seniors come over to school to have graduation practice. There was never any doubt that I too would go to Driscoll. Years later we were making Homecoming floats in our garage, or my parents giving their time to the school. My high school years were wonderful. It then extended to when I got married. I will never forget Br. Tom Hetland and Mrs Kathy Jarosz (God Bless Her) dancing at my reception and just having a great time. I didn't attend many things once I had my girls, but I would always have those memories. I hadn't seen many people since I had graduated, but was at the Village Tavern Fundraiser, where I saw Mr. Maggiore and he remembered me. Those years are so precious and the teachers, really wanted to be there and really care(d) for their students. I drove past the school today, and was tearful. Thank you for all of the wonderfule memories.
